We are an American couple from Massachusetts, who have had an interest in travel to Mexico and central America for some years. After several trips south, we landed in Belize. We were immediately taken by the beauty, lifestyle, and culture of this small, new, as of 1981, country. English being the official language, made us feel at home.

Being a part of the growing Eco-tourism/Mayan ruin/jungle study set, appealed to our sense of adventure. In 1997 we bought "Hummingbird Hills". It was 12 acres of reforested pastureland, in the village of Bullet Tree Falls, 3 miles west of San Ignacio. In just four years we have transformed our plot into a beautiful lodging destination that includes three guest cabanas, the Sage Thyme Cafe , a lounge, several groomed nature trails, a tree farm, and gardens galore. Our proximity to the upper Belize river, as well as many western Belize attractions, makes Hummingbird Hills a perfect base for your further exploration.
